Korea, India and Turkey join the growing list of countries adopting eCall technology.
Korea and India are both working closely with European organisations to build their upcoming eCall system, including certification and testing processes.
India is currently designing the requisite infrastructure and ecosystem to accommodate the eCall system that the government will trial on new highways that are being built across the country.
“Given that India has the worst record in road crashes in the world, this safety feature would go a long way towards saving lives.”
Turkcell, Turkey’s major mobile telecommunications company has also backed eCall and will enable the eCall system to transmit through their reliable and resilient network.
"The development of life-saving technologies for next generation automobiles holds vital importance as we enter a new era. Turkcell proudly undertakes the responsibility to provide the communication infrastructure for the first eCall system solution in Turkey.”
Legislation on eCall technology in Europe is one of the major factors driving advanced vehicle connectivity and has become mandatory for all new type-approved cars and commercial vehicles sold in the EU from March 2018.
IMR Technologies is looking forward to collaborating with all new countries, organisations and businesses to help further standardise eCall technology and strictures to ensure more lives are saved in serious vehicle accidents across the globe.
